This course will introduce young researchers to the basic concepts of labour economics and its condition in India. The course will also introduce these researchers on how to analyze the condition of Indian labour market over the years with the help of national level data in the statistical software STATA.

- Introduction to Employment and Unemployment Survey data of National Sample Survey (NSS) Organization
- Introduction to Periodic labour Force Survey Data
- Overview of the variables collected in these two datasets
Definition of principal status, subsidiary status, usual adjusted status, current daily status and current weekly status of employment
Extraction of NSS and PLFS data in STATA
